PROJECT: FREE CHOICE

A dedicated and specialist forced marriage project focusing on early intervention and prevention responses to all BME women and girls.

The project provides frontline individual support, advocacy and awareness raising to women and girls. All services are delivered in safe and confidential women-only space.

The project provides schools based awareness raising work. The work covers schools, colleges and universities to raise awareness of forced marriage and agree referral protocols to the project for young women affected by forced marriage.

We offer refuge space to women fleeing forced marriage including disabled women and women with NRPF where forced marriage is the presenting issue.

We promote the work of the project through partnership boards including safeguarding and child protection and the domestic and sexual violence forums in East London and Haringey, through case management and through the wider partnership networks accessing second tier support organisations and positively impacting policy and practice.
