Refuge service

We provide emergency accommodation based emergency services with housing support for BAMER women and children fleeing domestic and sexual violence.

Domestic violence covers any of the following experiences:

  • Physical abuse

  • Emotional abuse

  • Forced marriage

  • Sexual abuse

  • Financial control

  • Coercive control

  • Female genital mutilation

  • Harmful practices which includes so-called honour-based violence

The service provides safe and confidential space to provide women and children with individual casework support, counselling and therapeutic intervention and resettlement support working under an empowerment framework supporting women’s independence, autonomy, free choice and right to live free from violence and harm.

We have refuges in Newham and Haringey in London.

We do not accept referrals from within the local area that women are fleeing however we are able to work with women and find other suitable refuge space outside of the fleeing borough.

We accept referrals for women with insecure immigration status and disabled women.
