Young Women and Girls' Services 

London Black Women’s Project offers safe and confidential space to support young women and girls.

 

If you would like to talk about your concerns, meet others your age and obtain information about our services we would like to hear from you.

 

We offer a range of creative activities including individual support, interactive workshops led by young women and girls, therapeutic support and advocacy.

 

We work with young women and girls to build confidence and self-esteem so that you can achieve in life and meet your full potential.

 

We have experience and expertise around domestic and sexual violence including forced marriage, sexual health, relationship issues and FGM. We offer advice and information on the concerns you have.

 

We offer a summer programme involving lots of fun activities and day trips.

 

Our services are provided in schools, colleges, youth centres including our own Resource Centre on Barking Road.

 

We offer the following services under our young women and girls provision:

 

PROJECT: AWARE

A dedicated and specialist BME women and girls project focusing on sexual abuse and exploitation challenging the normalisation, tolerance and acceptance of violence in society and working towards independence, freedom and safety for women and girls. The project provides young women’s keyworking services, advocacy, individual support and support groups.

 

PROJECT: LIFE

A dedicated and specialist BME young women and girls project focusing on those at risk or surviving all forms of gender violence including harmful practices through counselling, therapeutic support and advocacy.

 

VISION OF ME

The project uses women and girls’ creative agency to empower by constructing worldviews that are free from violence and harm. This project aims to transform the way women and girls are supported by using art, written word and one act plays and other artistic forms in the process of healing and recovery.     

If you would like to access a youth group, we offer the following:

 

Girls Allowed for young women and girls between the ages of 11 and 15 which meets every Monday from 3.30 to 5.00.

 

Teens Group for young women and girls aged 16 to 19 which meets every Wednesday from 3.30 to 5.00.

 

Both groups are held at Forest Gate Youth Zone.
